2008 Picture highlights
In the 1st quarter of the year my first trip was a digging trip to Upper Cave with Jason Knight. I also did some further ridgewalking with Jeremiah Baxter to locate more of the somewhat lost and forgotten Little Rock Canyon Caves. We did a bit of digging, and re-opened some passageway that obviously hadn't been visited in years. I also went out to Toothbrush Cave again to do some further digging work and try to connect it with Little Brush. And finally, some time at April Fool Cave to help Dale Green with preperations for a needed gate to protect the formations inside the cave.
2nd quarter covers searching for and re-finding Bitterroot Cave with Dale. More ridgewalking with Jeremiah. A trip to visit Cave of the Mounds in Wisconsin while visiting Steph's parents.
3rd quarter is the quest to discover a new cave with Ben Simon. After multiple climbing attempts, we gained the entrance, and did indeed find a cave. It was named Rat's Attic, in honor of the carpet of rat poop over every flat surface. There was a return trip to Bitterroot to move some serious dirt. And some unplanned discoveries on a hiking trip in Logan Canyon.
4th quarter had several fun activities. Checking out a newer cave with Dave Herron. Taking Nick Johnson out on a trip checking high leads. And testing out Ben's pulley system on the last trip to Bitterroot Cave for the year. Looking forward to 2009 already!
